Overview of the Grant-Seeking/Grant-Making Process

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in GRTC’s Grant program. This announcement kicks off the second round of the program, which began in 2003. GRTC has approximately $7,500 available, and we want to use it all to fund trail projects in 2006. We have streamlined the application format considerably, and we hope that this action will encourage more participation. Our grants are intended to help fill that niche for awards between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars. GRTC wants to encourage trail building, but will sometimes help fund trail maintenance equipment.

The timeline for this round is as follows:

• Early May ---Second Round kick-off
   
• June 30th---All applications received by GRTC
   
• August 16th---All applications screened by GRTC and evaluated by an independent body
   
• Mid-September---Successful applicants notified via agreement letter
